Q. Why book now?
A. Flu vaccination programmes are always popular and the earlier you book the more likely you are to get your ideal date and time slot.

A. Yes. The World Health Authority has announced the influenza strains that will be included in the 2010/11 seasonal influenza vaccine and this includes the H1N1 swine influenza virus.
Q. When do I need to book a date(s) for the nurse to come?
A. You need to give us date(s) now for flu vaccinations to take place in October/November or December. The booking diary is filling quickly because of the high demand.
Q. Can you get flu from the vaccine?
A. No. This is impossible, as it is not a live vaccine. However the vaccine may take up to two weeks to be fully effective.
Q. Why do I need the flu vaccine?
A. Flu is very unpleasant and will leave you very ill for several days. You will not be able to work, nor have an enjoyable time while you are off work!
Q. Will my employees have to be taxed as it is a benefit?
A. No. Flu vaccinations come under Occupational Health, thus there are no P11D implications.
Q. Do you charge for nurse travel time?
A. No. You will only be billed for the time the nurse actually vaccinates.
Q. Do you charge for delivery of the vaccines?
A. No. There are no other charges.

A. No. As this is a service, we do not charge you VAT on the vaccines as you would not be able to claim it back.
Q. Can employees share the cost of the flu service?
A. Yes. Medicals Direct will invoice the total due to the company.
Q. What if someone has an allergic reaction?
A. These are extremely rare. However our nurses are fully trained and all carry an anaphylactic kit.
Q. Confidentiality
A. Each employee to be vaccinated signs a form which is then stored electronically in a secure area. This information is used only to confirm consent and as a record of the batch number of the vaccine given.
